Hong Kong recently opened a brand new kind of shopping mall, K11, last week in this city’s retail-saturated Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood. With a combination of art, culture and nature, the ‘Art and Retail’ project cost HK$3 billion and covers over 340,000 square feet of space combining 100 retail stores, art exhibitions from local artists and an open-air piazza. From benches and ceiling ornaments to wall decorations and giant sculptures, the idea is that you can shop and tour the six-storey mall, while still appreciating the art pieces installed throughout.

Madonna recently teamed up with longtime friends Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana as the new face of their Sicilian-inspired Spring 2010 ad campaign. Steven Klein captured Madonna in New York washing dishes and eating spaghetti. “The collection is very Italian, very Sicilian. It’s a return to our roots with a modern angle, so we asked Madonna to interpret it in a different and human way,” Gabbana said. LOVE.
