Happy Birthday Bob Dylan.
Musical Icon, Bob Dylan, turns 69 today. Dylan is an American musician, poet and artist whose position in popular culture is unique. He has been a major figure in popular music for five decades (much of Dylan’s best known work is from the 1960s). Some of his songs, such as “Blowin’ In The Wind” and “The Times They Are A-Changin’”, became anthems of the anti-war and civil rights movements. His song “Like A Rolling Stone”, released in July of 1965, was named “The Greatest Song of All Time” by Rolling Stone magazine in 2004, placing #1 in a list of 500 titles. Dylan remains an influential and popular artist.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Emma Watson and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians) are in talks to star in indie coming-of-age drama “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” originally by author Stephen Chbosky (who will direct from his own script with Lianne Halfon and John Malkovich). “Perks,” which was published in 1999, is narrated by a shy and unpopular teenager who describes his life by writing a series of letters to an anonymous person and explores the awkward times of adolescence, including drug use and sexuality. What do you think of the potential casting??

CBGB Bathroom To Be Recreated!
Installation artist Justin Lowe will recreate CBGB’s legendary bathroom this summer. Four gallery rooms of Hartford’s Wadsworth Atheneum will become nostalgic echoes of the stinking, stickered, tagged and memorabilia-encrusted facilities. Lowe plans to transplant the CBGB bathroom doppelgänger into the posh museum.

Make Me Wanna Die.
Zooey Deschanel + Vintage Bathing Suits.
Mixed Media Girls.
My friend Whitney recently introduced me to London based illustrator and graphic designer, Nikki Farquharson. I was instantly obsessed!! Farquharson has completed a series of vibrant images for her ongoing project entitled, ‘Mixed Media Girls’. These works combine a unique mixture of collage, photography, typography and bold color combinations and patterns. I love the 3D nature of her work, the striking colors, the bold prints and the way the photographic images blend so seamlessly into the artwork. Farquharson’s impressive work was recently displayed at the YCN Alive exhibit in Helsinki. Check out her official website here.

She’s going on the road, too, with international launch events, television appearances and online marketing.

David Sedaris Story to Become Film!
The short story “C.O.G.” by David Sedaris (brother of funny gal Amy Sedaris) is set to become the first film adaptation of the acclaimed writer’s work. The autobiographical tale that follows Sedaris as he works for a fanatical Christian clockmaker comes from Naked, his 1997 best-selling collection of humorous essays. His writing is genius, so I have no doubt that the film will be the same!
